While Don Omar and Daddy Yankee were crossing over into the pop mainstream with their international hits "Reggaeton Latino" and "Gasolina," respectively, Yomo was still developing in the reggaeton breeding ground. Yomo, real name José Alberto Torres Abreu, grew up in the barrio of Tres Puntos in Humacao, Puerto Rico, but was actually born in Chicago, IL, in the U.S. Before becoming a professional artist, he used to work as a handyman on Puerto Rico's Palmas del Mar Beach. His first taste of success came in the form of the hot single "Dejale Caer To' el Peso," which charted in the Top 40 of Latin Hot Tracks in 2006. His song was featured on the 2005 compilation Sangre Nueva, which was composed by reggaeton veteran Hector "El Father" and producer Naldo to promote new, up-and-coming talent. ~ Cyril Cordor, Rovi

YOMO eres bueno pa eso de la inprovisacion pero eres mejor cuando cantas con WISIN Y YANDEL o con el veterano TEGO CALDERON .....ERES UNO DE MIS FAVORITOS...
Yomo is my favoriate reggaeton artist. I got a chance to meet with him up close and personal and hung out with him and his crew as we had a concert with him in Orlando. Club Coco Bongos, FL. with 2extreme Ent. Victor Rodriguez. Yomo was very humble and social. His music moves you and is a fast uptempo. Yaviah is a classic artist. one of the first.
Great artist with a unique style. "Dejale Caer To' el Peso" is a good song but I thought Hector el Father killed the track...all the guy does is talk for like 2mins at the end of songs and has that annoying laugh after every sentence. But other than that, its a good song.
