The Weather Girls, Martha Wash and Izora Rhodes, started out in the gospel group NOW (News of the World) before becoming backup singers with Sylvester in the '70s. They formed the duo Two Tons of Fun, later changing their name to the Weather Girls and recording in the early '80s. Wash later went on to do session singing and was the uncredited lead vocalist on "You're My One and Only (True Love)" by Seduction, "Everybody Everybody" by Black Box, and "Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)" by C&C Music Factory. Wash, who is overweight, was invariably replaced in the songs' videos by lip-syncing models, and was forced to resort to legal action to get a proper share of the royalties for her work. ~ Steve Huey, Rovi
"Gone Away" is a VERY NICE gem which all should look into from these two fab ladies!

try being a plus size without the gift of voice from Heaven, and nothing to make you special or unique in the eyes of the masses who don't look past there own noses or what the Ads in some magazine tells them. By the way if your having a problem and don't know why stop using flouride toothpaste and drinking Tap water that is full of chemicals and Flouride it stunts the thyroid!!!!

nothing gets my blood going like Raining Men Amen!!!
I enjoy The Weather Girls' music beyond their best known hit song. Fabulous vocals!

It's a sad commentary on our society that an artist with a great voice has to fight to get paid for her work, much less get the recognition she deserves, just because she's a plus size.
