CCM duo Watermark comprised the husband-and-wife duo of Nathan and Christy Nockles; originally dubbed Watershed, they built a strong cult following in their native Houston before earning national recognition in 1998 opening for Point of Grace. Upon renaming themselves Watermark and signing to Rocketown, the duo issued their self-titled debut in the fall of 1998; the LP was reissued early the following year on Epic. The acoustic-based All Things New arrived in mid-2000. Watermark spent the next two years dealing with change. They shaped up their typically pop sound for strict, sophisticated melodies. They also started a family. A third album Constant, which was released in early 2002, reflected Watermark's newfound glow. ~ Jason Ankeny, Rovi
I agree- a better word word have been following or audience...

No cult, Just love of Jesus, trouble makers, Christy sings from the heart of the love of Jesus. Read James 4:7-8 troublemakers and be at peace for once.
that cult word could have been left out....jus sayin

So happy to have Christy as part of the Passion City Church worship team with Chris Tomlin and Krystian Stanfell. Her voice is a blessing from the Father. Anyone ever in Atlanta, I would be proud to accompany you to Passion City Church and worship in passion to our Savior.
The Nochels team; i.e. Proverbs 31 people. I have always been thankful for them exemplifying the power of the gospel, preaching, way of life and also enjoyed their music expertise in person and not in person, as soon as they went national, especially look forward to every precious bridge Christie writes or even thinks of, all under the influence of the Holy Spirit of the Living God. Thank you Father. Alleluia.
the women was saying that she was hooked BUT NOT IN a cult like way because of the deceptive conintations to that she was trying to express her self n a positive way not a negitive way blessings on you sister in Chrit > hether_hedon

Heard this song and was hooked (not in a cult-like way ;) ) Bought the cd and heard the song 'Glory Baby' followed by 'Ellaina's song'. This touched me in a personal way. What a beautiful, expressive testimony!!

CULT can be used loosely. a : great devotion to a person, idea, object, movement, or work (as a film or book); especially : such devotion regarded as a literary or intellectual fad b : the object of such devotion c : a usually small group of people characterized by such devotion

Their bio says they developed a strong cult following. The writer needs to look up the definition of cult.
i love jesus in all things thank you from your heart.

The description of cult bothered me as well. It has a very negative connotation with deception. I cherish the ministry of the Spirit through this couple. I see I am not alone in this.

When I hear this song, I feel the presence of God. Her voice reminds me how sweet Jesus is.

I wouldn't describe their following as a cult. Whoever wrote that description for Pandora obviously doesn't understand what the definition of a cult is.

when you strip away some of the excess background music and a song is at its simplest acoustic point, that's when it can be most effective. This is beautiful, raw, organic. I love it.
just when I thought I had heard the most unique singing voice I hear Watermark. the kind of amazing voice that continues fixed in my memory hours later after I have heard it. The musical arrangement on some of those songs is so beautiful and somehow enances Christy's singing even more.Spirit is definitely the One designing their music.
Interesting that someone would use the words, cult following to depict Watermark's audience. I would like to know what the beliefs of Jason Ankeny and Rovi are??? I love the way Watermark minister's through their gift of music.

Never heard of them but I really feel the presence of God in this music!
I first heard Christy Nockels as "the female voice" on a lot of the early Passion stuff like: Breathe (One Day Live), Grace Flows Down (One Day Live), and Knees to the Earth (Sacred Revolution). Those songs really ministered to me at that time in my life. She truly has an awesome gift, and the Watermark duo is awesome too.
First heard Christy Nockels at a concert in Worcester Mass a month after 9/11. A bunch of people on the stage all with a song to sing. She's so tiny we didn't see her among all the singers, but when she started to sing, her strong, lilting voice filled the arena with the glory of God. We have all her music and love it immensely. What a gift she has to bless us!

I Heard "More than you'll ever know" the year our oldest son passed away in a car accident @ 20 yrs old. I have a long time friend that has prayed over my life for years & the words to this song said what I couldn't.
I've always liked these two, especially since seeing them at First Baptist Houston. They're as fantastic live from a few feet away as they are on their albums--if not better.
Listening to {Still) as I'm unpacking my house. Moved from Pennsylvania to Montana. Hopefully, we can have a little more "still" in a less intense environment and dance with God a little more.

The best Christian artists ever. They write their own music, and it's deep.
