Bringing commercial sensuality to the often sterile world of classical music, talented violinist Vanessa-Mae moved from a successful classical recording career into the field of popular music with her 1994 breakout album, The Violin Player. Subsequent albums climbed the world-wide charts, making her an international star. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
I play cello now but I used to play the violin but I was never this good. I found her when I was looking up the Devils Trill. If you want to find it its on youtube. Just to let you know how talented she is only about 10 people in the world (one of them is my friend) can play the devils trill as it was intended. Cool right! ;-)
My son was a musician (violin player), and she played a big part on his love for the instrument; She`s one of the most beautiful violininst in the world, I wish to see her, playing in miami/florida.
Vanessa-Mae dresses like a slut on her album covers.

I picked up an album of hers' while traveling in Vietnam in '05, and never stoped listening. I love her music, she is incredibly talented. I am glad her music is picking up steam in the global market.
I like her a lot more than I like Bond. I enjoy Bond well enough, but Vanessa Mae is better in more or less every way, as far as I'm concerned. Glad to know I'm not alone. :)
Vanessa Mae was around way before Bond. Probably influenced them. Both are awesome though.

You gotta love her violin and strong soundtrack style. I have a bone to pick with Mr. Bush's review. First of all, I don't see Vanessa-Mae as a classical artist, but a pop artist. She has re-made many classical songs in her own style. And while the violin is a staple of classical music, it also finds its way into country, rock, and especially metal. Second, viewing classical music as "often sterile" couldn't be further from reality. Classical expresses far more feeling than many genres.

Some airhead on Amazon referred to her as the Paris Hilton of the violin set.Don't believe it for a second! This girl can play masterfully well across several different styles. Her DVD at Royal Albert Hall is a joy as well
