What the heck...they changed up the lyrics that are posted...and they have William Merrick Evans and Jim Evans listed as songwriters...I don't know who those guys are but they definitely did not write this song. That would be David Evans, Paul Hewson, and Clayton and Mullen!
Ha ha, nice catch Tahritz. I've never even seen Pandora try to include interjections that deviate from the official lyrics in live versions, so that in itself is interesting for this track.

You're right about the lyrics to Octorber being stolen weeks before they were to record it. Bono has said that two pretty girls blinded him with science after a show and they stole them. He basically had to make up lyrics on the fly during the recording session. I heard that years later one of the girl's confessed and was writing a book about it.
Absolutely right tahritz... And who doesnt know that The Edge is lead guitar?

Who puts these lyrics on Pandora? Maybe they should try Googling the correct lyrics. C'mon! During the "Hey, this is Red Rocks!" part of the song, Bono is introducing the band. He doesn't say, "I'd glaze up." He's introducing the bass player, Adam Clayton.
Great tune from thier October album, I believe thier music had been lost or stolen and they had to go back to the drawing board...and although this is strictly opinion, I never looked at U2 as a Christian band, but a band, some of whom were Christian, that allowed their faith traditions to inform some of their music. Bono has always stuck me as a person who believes in G-d, and G-ds love for all of humanity...
@Tony: You're right, this is about God, not some girlfriend of Bono's. About finding God when some really bad things were happening and becoming very faithful. Not likely the RC mass, as they are Anglican (Bono was raised both, and Larry might be RC).
This is a nice moving song with a good beat. but "Gloria" is not some chick. I think it was part of the "Gloria" from the Roman Cathoic Latin Mass. But now I am a born again Christian and read the Bible in English. But a real moving song. The Christian Group "Circadian Rythm" had their own rendition of "Gloria".
