The music should be playing soon.

Too much space between the notes is an ignorant comment in the same class as Joseph II's comment to Mozart: Too many notes. The quality of music is not countable.
Tord Gustavsen Trio's beautiful rendering of emotions is equally present in the notes and the spaces between them.
The space...is part of the message conveyed in the tune. space and time. Crucial in Jazz or any Art form. The musician can put it where he wants in the song. As Alan mentioned here, listen to Count Basie. Miles Davis on some renditions too.

This is both moving on a deep, internal level, and soothing. Another new artist find on Pandora.
Nothing wrong with space between notes. Listen to Count Basie, my friend! He was the master of understatement. Silence is as much as part of music as is sound. Probably the best lesson in improv I ever had focused on that!
This is my favorite late night listening station. Mostly gentle mellow jazz for a writers last strike of the computer keys. Turn lights out and listen for a little longer until.....I move silently and calmln unto the deeper sleep. I don't have an IPAD AT MY disposal yet where i coulfd program my owm times on and then off.

As I slowly wake on a snowy Minnesota morning, waiting for coffee and the kids to rise, this artist makes me be happy to be alive.
