Surprisingly, Thornley was led by vocalist/guitarist Ian Thornley, he of the mildly successful Boston alternative outfit Big Wreck. After the Wreck's 2002 retirement, Thornley returned to his native Toronto and began writing solo material. Nickelback's Chad Kroeger -- a pal from the late '90s modern rock trenches -- had just started a vanity imprint through Universal, and he promptly tapped Thornley as a signee. So, by late 2003 the singer was back in the studio, working with producer Gavin Brown (Three Days Grace), drummer Sekou Lumumba, bassist Ken Tizzard, and guitarist Tavis Stanley. When the resulting Come Again LP appeared in May 2004, it featured a melodic post-grunge sound tinged with psychedelia and guided by the big vocals of -- wait for it -- Thornley. ~ Johnny Loftus, Rovi
I love Big Wreck - and I can state that this is a very compressed sound & his voice sounds strained. Where is that Big Wreck sound where you felt like you were in the ROOM with the guitars, etc.? I'm not asking him to re-make Big Wreck, but rather asking production questions...
Saw them live in '09 at the commodore in vancouver bc. It was awesome!! and for those who don't know thornley's first band big wreck came out way before all the bands they are compared to.
Well it all good but mostly bad reverts to being affiliated with and even more friends with Chad Kroger of that only rock band that sound not be classified as rock or anything close to the genre damn Nickelback.

they were great in concert. I got the cd right away after i saw them. They arent the best, but I still love them.
I've recently had the song, Fall to Pieces, seeded on several of my stations and I have thumbs-up every time I hear it! It's a great song and I do love the vocals, more so that barbed guitar sound. The almost engine-like revving is really fantastic and it gets me everytime. Just wanted to let you know you have some listeners and to keep doing what you're doing! Thanks! -- Wait for It -- lol, I know what you mean, ~ B, I agree.
