Texas post-rock band This Will Destroy You formed in 2005. Members Chris King (guitars), Jeremy Galindo (guitars), Raymond Brown (bass), and drummer Andrew Miller came together under the notion of pursuing a purely instrumental project, and recorded their demo -- which would end up being released as is -- shortly after getting together. The EP, entitled Young Mountain, was critically well received, and the band inked a deal with Magic Bullet Records. This Will Destroy You were back in the studio in 2007, and over the next four years the band released four albums: 2008s This Will Destroy You, 2009s Field Studies, 2010s Moving on the Edges of Things, and 2011s Tunnel Blanket. ~ Chris True, Rovi
Love this song and LOVE this band! I saw them live a few months ago and highly recommend finding a show to see them, when you are right there and can literally feel the music it it quite amazing! Wish I could go to their next show in my area this month but can't make it :( maybe next time
This is truly astonishing. It's is gentle, I could definitly fall asleep to this. It's one of those songs that just forces you to stop and think/reflect.
This Will Destroy You has gotten me through a lot of the darkest spots of my depression. They provide a mood to which I can set my thoughts without the distraction words can provide. They have given me nothing but beauty. I can never thank this band enough, or Andrew Bravener for introducing me to them when they first came out.
Their self titled album has been my favorite album ever for the last several months. I highly recommend listening to all of it straight thorough, though the songs are all great on their own too.
I am a big time prog rock fan 70's on up but this just came across and I stopped what I was doing just to grasp the intense music structure. I wish they would play in Chicago I have many friends that would go see them.
the first time I saw this band perform was 7 years ago at a hole in the wall in corpus christi texas. The entire set (young mountain) was so powerful I literally cried during a couple songs. The entire venue was in silence and awe of their performance. To this day, I have never seen a performance where you could feel the passion of what they do come through their music. This Will Destroy You will always be one of my top favorite bands

Think of it as using typically Rock instruments to make non-rock type music. I know that's pretty vague, and the bands tend to be more instrumental. Imagine Sigur Ros w/out the vocals.
