Formed out of Norway's famed black metal scene, Theatre of Tragedy combine elements of goth and metal with an added touch of drama thanks in part to the dual vocals of Raymond I. Rohonyi and Liv Kristine Espenaes. With the accompaniment of Frank Claussen (guitars), Tommy Olsson (guitars/programming), Eirik T. Saltroe (bass), Hein Frode Hansen (drums) and Lorentz Aspen (synthesizer), Theatre of Tragedy orchestrates a different performance piece with each song, while the singers bounce dialogues off of each other and even at times portray different characters. With their 1995 self-titled debut on Massacre, Theatre of Tragedy won over Century Media Records, who began licensing their albums for U.S. distribution. Velvet Darkness They Fear appeared in 1996, and the more electronic-flavored follow-up Aegis was released in 1998; both albums helped substantially expand the group's following among both goth and metal audiences. Before Musique was issued in 2000, the band parted ways with both Olsson and Saltroe. ~ Mike DaRonco, Rovi
Love their singles Storm, Machine & Fade. However, sometimes when I hear the male vocalist (or on probably many dark metal bands) , I imagne cookie monster...
Theatre of Tragedy didnt Break up, Liv has a new band with her husband called Leaves' Eyes(CHECK THEM OUT!)TOT has signed on a new female vocalist and have gone on to release atleast 3 more albums, Assembly, Storm and 1 more I can not think of at the moment.

@Silhouette: He's a troll. That's why I make it a point to ignore most of his comments. He is only doing it for attention and to try to start a flame war. Every now and then, I'll throw a jab at him, just because I can, though.

"willow", if you read this, just know that you have a right to have a favorite band and to dislike other bands, but you have crossed the line.

Almost every band I listen to has a comment from "willow". Seriously, I think that everyone who actually ENJOYS music BESIDES FREAKING GODSMACK should IGNORE what freaking "willow" posts. I think that "willow" has no life, and is just dissing bands to get attention.
I'm sure Willow has a stash of the different user names he can go under .. how many are in that list, I can't guess.
Listen to this, Willow: why you do this, I dunno. Why I'm replying, I dunno. You should really appreciate the different bands out there. You might never know, you might find something (gasp) better than Godsmack. Hey, Godsmack is an okay band, but I wouldn't devote my life posting comments like yours all over a music site. I'd rethink if I were you.

I love the emotional appeal of this band combined with the force of their guitars and background vocals.
Thank the gods that "Storm" doesn't sound anything like "Musique." I wrote this band off after I heard "Musique." But I guess redemption is possible. If you haven't heard the crap that is "Musique" I recommend listening to it. It's kind of funny when you don't expect any good of it.
Oh my @#$%^&* hell. You left a comment on Theatre of Tragedy as well? Have you nothing better to do. Go play records backwards and kill yourself willow. Godsmack can go suck it. Terrible band imo.
Una de las mejores bandas escandinavas y del mundo en doom-goth metal, lastima que cambio su estilo, no esta mal, pero era mejor en sus primeros tiempos.

My typical disclaimer is that I have only heard what Pandora plays, and it's either from Velvet Darkness or Storm, so I can't comment on every album.
