Heavily inspired by the sincere and anthemic rock of '80s stars like U2, Peter Gabriel, the Police, and Simple Minds, Test Your Reflex update that vintage sound into a form akin to contemporaries like the Arcade Fire and the Faint rather than sticking to mere 1980s post-punk nostalgia. Formed in the Los Angeles suburb of Thousand Oaks, CA, in 2004 by singer and guitarist Ryan Levine, the band also includes lead guitarist R.C. Clark, keyboardist Andrew Ampaya, bassist Agustin Sanchez, and drummer Sal Cortez. Within months of forming, the band's teen idol looks and smartly retro vibe had attracted a small-scale bidding war that was eventually won by Sony BMG's RCA imprint. Test Your Reflex's debut album, The Burning Hour, was released in early 2007, preceded by the first single "Pieces of the Sun." ~ Stewart Mason, Rovi
I'm liking them. Hm. Cool! :D oh, and haters, stop with all the crap. If you do't like them, don't listen to them. Nobody cares about your opinion anyways so why show your lack of knowledge and taste rather than just stay silent and leave room for uncertainty? Enough said. ;)

This band was awesome. It's a shame they broke up not long after this release.
you douches hatin on this are just jealous cuz u cant play s**t. These guys sound NOTHING like the cure, idiots. im a drummer and i think you guys need to get a life, if u dont like em, DONT GET ON THEIR F**KIN PAGE! its that easy jerkoffs!
i got pandora'd over to ' I Know You're Lonely' and i actually really like the instrumentals and lyrics. what do comments like "you guys are so meh" or "get your own sound" or " 'but' they sound a lot like The Cure" even mean? if each band had to have their own style then there'd only be as many bands/artists as there are genres. and The Cure is awesome. what's wrong with having another group that creates instrumentals similar to them?

I normally dont knock on bands on here... but these guys are so ... meh...
Heard "I'm Not Sorry" and was impressed. Never heard of the group, but they came up on my "Faithfully" station (Journey song). Gonna keep an ear and eye out for 'em, and immediately recommended the song to a couple close friends.
Never heard of them before, they came up on my "Billy Squier" station. Love it.

I know you're lonely has one of the most beautiful harmony I've ever heard. The artist blends the harmonizing piano, guitar, and bass well together. This song is by far one of my favorites.
