Tedeschi Trucks Band

The Tedeschi Trucks Band -- led by the husband-and-wife duo of guitarist and vocalist Susan Tedeschi and slide guitarist Derek Trucks -- began as a summer touring unit known as the Soul Stew Revival. It was both a practical consideration for the pair to spend time together with their young family and a musical endeavor. Soul Stew Revival featured members of their own bands and numerous guest musicians, and the loose-knit cooperative band performed roof-raising shows full of soul, blues, funk, and gospel standards, as well as original material. After one of these tours, the pair decided to create a home studio to be better able to finance their own recordings. Tedeschi and Trucks performed a cover of "Space Captain" on Herbie Hancock's Imagine Project, and solidified an 11-piece band from their own units, as well as horn players and percussionists. Renamed the Tedeschi Trucks Band, they signed to Sony's Masterworks imprint, recorded over 30 songs, and eventually pared the selection down to 11 tracks for their debut album, Revelator, which was released in June 2011 and nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Blues Album. It was followed in the spring of 2012 by Live: Everybody's Talkin', a sprawling double-disc set which featured material from Revelator, alongside some carefully-chosen cover versions. August 2013 brought a second studio album, Made Up Mind, which featured co-writing credits from the Jayhawks' Gary Louris and Soulive's Eric Krasno. ~ Thom Jurek, Rovi

With so many of the last American blues artists rapidly passing on, it is such a pleasure to see these young people carrying the torch. They do us all proud. Had the pleasure of seeing them a couple of nights ago. When they married, they decided to combine the two bands and the musicians who didn't fit joined Rich Robinson's group and opened for Tedeschi Trucks. Great show!
Saw the band in Buffalo a few weeks ago....blew me away...looki n g to see them again.
This is awesome...re m i n d s me a little of Bonnie Raitt...

LOVE THEM...MIDIN G H T IN HARLEM MY FAV TOO!
Come to the Peach Festival in August in Scranton, Pa. Relatively cheap 4 day festival - got mine for $99 (now going for $129). TTB on Friday night, then Derek playing with Allmans on Saturday and Sunday (playing entire Eat a Peach album on Sunday). Other great groups too, but to see Derek's unbelievable guitar playing 3 days in a row and Susan's incredible voice on Friday is what I'm really looking forward to. Midnight in Harlem my fave!!!!
I have seen them 5 times. They are fantastic!!

Heard them play Aug30th at Red Rocks Colorado, EXCELLENT show!
Just saw them at the Beacon here in NYC - what a great show, what a great sound and what a great mix of classic blues, R&B, Gospel and originals. The demand was so high that a third night was added. Word is getting out - the'll be booking an entire week at the Beacon next year, I guarantee it.
I am so looking forward to their concert this wknd in NYC!
Saw them in ABQ 8/29 at the Sandia Resort/Casin o outside with a full moon. I'm in my 50's, a fairly accomplished R&B musician in my own right, and I just saw one of the most musically inspiring and fun concert of my whole life. And yes-Little Feat, Bonnie, Delbert, Al Greene, and the Allman Bro's rolled into one.

Excited to see them at the 1st annual Peach Festival in Scranton, Aug. 10-12, 2012.
We will be waiting til the last hour of the Newport Jazz Fest Sunday August 5th to feel their magic. Dream band! Dream marriage! Luv'em!
If Little Feat and Bonnie Raitt had a baby in the 70's (and god knows they tried, heh), it would play music like this!!!
Great time at the Cheasapeake Blues festival on 5/19. Great stuff.
