In popular understandin g , this song appears to be about sex. However, I think terracotta pie, a.k.a. earth pie, means something. Using the obvious banana metaphor, I think they are trying to say that we are screwing the earth. There does not seem to be a perfect way of living in the world (is there a perfect way of holding you, baby?) because a lot of what people do could be seen as obscene in the world's eyes. Could be a start in understanding this song.
