Message to bigsezy47.sw Prince (born Prince Rogers Nelson; June 7, 1958) and was not a Sylver. I think you are remembering Joseph Richard Ricky Sylvers (born October 13, 1958) who was the youngest of the main group but not the youngest brother to have performed with the group. That honor goes to Foster Emerson Sylvers (born February 25, 1962).
I was born in the seventies. I just recently introduced to The Sylvers via youtube. So much talented. I really like them. They are like the best kept secret. I so wish they could have been more mainstream.
The Sylvers were wasted during their run with Capitol in the mid 70s. While those albums included some solid, well performed R&B, the label insisted on pushing the bubble gum stuff written by Freddie Perren. No...this family's best material came from their early 70s era with Pride/MGM (which includes "We Can Make It If We Try," above), and their Casablanca and Solar work between 1978 and 1982.
