I was just 8 years old when I first heard this song it was one of my favorites. Now my kids are 8 years old and they like the song. No matter where they are they do the dance from the Fresh Prince episode. Good music last for generations.
This is true hip hop manifest right here. Also check out the Incredible Bongo Band, they're the one's who did the original Apache. And to lionhouse151, don't give up on hip hop. There's lot's of great hip hop out there, you just have to look for it. None of it is main stream though.
Immediately after this began to play, i was transported instantly back to 1979, the summer right before I started 8th grade, Prince and Sugar Hill Gang was all i listened to. Man, and here I am thinking my generation was robbed of a definining culture, Sugar Hill, Kurtis Blow, Houdini, they are our legacy, they defined an age when hip hop was pure, now its just shYT.
