i don't see how this song is misogynistic . the line 'the mind that knows itself has a mind to serve the other' could just as easily refer to men serving women. other than that, i don't find anything woman-hating . . .
What? Are you sure that you arent infusing an abstract song with your own meaning? Does Sufjan confuse you? Is music not historically driven by heartache and relationship difficulties ? You should listen to 'johnny get angry' by joanie sommers... there's a real styreotypica l sexist song sung by a real insecure woman.
