I love Sting, and The Police are one of my favorite bands of all time. But this song proves it's time for him to hang up his microphone. Like Elton John, Rod Stewart, Billy Joel, and many other aging rockers, he's lost that quality in his voice that made him so memorable.
Love this guy, and his songs . . . but wonder why he seems to be one of those people who is so bored with his own hits that he performs them in a fashion which sounds like he doesn't even know why people like them. Mellencamp is similar - adding cajun flavors where unneccessary - Sting leans towards a JAZZ take on his old hits . . . brilliantly clueless, I suppose.
