My has the same birthday as Stevie and didn't know it till the day passed on . That same day my brother went and bought a guitar and started playing he picked it up fast. I couldn't believe my ears.
dbedson's comment is spot on. As I was listening to this beautiful song, I couldn't help but think who's the dummy on rhythm guitar that doesn't know the difference between major and minor?
He screwed up the first few minutes of the song, and I GUARANTEE Stevie was slightly irritated by it.
dbedson, seriously? i bet you b**ch about everything. awesome performance & you have to critique it.

God bless Johnny Copland but it takes him about 2 minutes and 45 seconds to realize that this song is in a minor key. The beginning rhythm guitar is a little tough to listen to. Long live Stevie and Johnny!
this is truly an unbelievable version. i have this song in my itunes library but it's a different version. this one is absolutely much better. had to crank it up. couldnt help myself. Long Live SRV recordings!!

technically buchanan might have been better but Stevie ray has the heart and soul of the blues and makes the guitar cry, laugh, scream, and bends it in ways no one else ever thought of. Have you ever heard his cover of voodoo child at carnegie hall. wow that was a master work. Motzart of blues

Roy Buchanan is better in my mind, but they we're all greats of the guitar for sure RIP too all of em!!!
