The truth is no one ever credited Stevie with this jam. Unless you were naive and just didn't realize that his/ her renditonn is one musicians' own soul to himself/herself. So you are saying in essence is that it is wrong for anyone to sing the national anthems around the globe unless only the original artist sings it. Unless they butcher the damn thing- in which case-in the case of THIRDROCK fROM THE SUN....had neat sounds but Jimmie finished that one. Now all of the spin-offs' like Corey
Like Terek wrote, Stevie improved upon these jams in his 30s. He had time to perfect a song composed by someone else. Composed by a man in his early 20s : Hendrix.
O.K. Iet's remember that Jimi wrote both of these tunes (as a young, young man). Sure, Stevie may have improved on them a little, but this is still classic Hendrix. Don't get me wrong: I love Stevie, but in reality, Jimi came first, and this is his work.
STEVIE, TAKE IT EASY MAN, THIS IS T M G(GUITAR).......FOR THE MEEK....R I P BRO....

Stevie Ray's guitar style is cleaner than jimi hendrix, as a matter of fact, jimi hendrix's version of little wing does not even compare to this one, and clapton's isn't even on the same page. not even the same book. not even the same genre. This is the the little wing that was meant to be heard.

THis little wing/Third stone from the sun is not in the three pack.
Stevie is the most underrated guitar god. Pity the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a joke, because Stevie deserves a place up with Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix.

This is my favorite Stevie Ray song of all time, however the version on his greatest hits album is much better than this one.
Stevie, was definitely the only other guitar god that could come even close to giving this jam his own twist, and still replicating it in such a way that Jimi would definitely have "dug it man".... you know
this is freakin amazing, i've never ever heard anything like this in my life. as much as i LOVE hendrix, i have to say...no I cant say it! but this is as close 2 perfection as 1 can get it...
Tuesdays maybe. on Saturdays and most fridays JH was 1st and would've lasted longer if it was not the "stoned-age". SRV sat on Jimmys' sholders, like i did my brother Jerr's & Kennys'. . . . .that don't make me any better than they. I was just able to learn from them !st, then add & rerfine my own sparks to it!

If you can't tell the diff between Hendrix and Vaughan, you shouldn't be allowed to listen... Insulting almost. 2 very specific sounds. know 'em, or blow ,em. I prefer Vaughan over Jimi any day.. especially Tuesdays
Not only is this song not mislabled, ITS BETTER THAN JIMI, Stevie Ray was better im sorry thank you Jimi you were innovative, and you allowed Stevie to be what he is but he blows you straight out of the water, i forgot all about this version and just hearing it now i am convinced for certain now that Stevie was better and played live better, Jimi wasted his talent in comparison, shouldnt have been so "wasted", but dont get me wrong Jimi was king but i prefer my man S R 2DaMf V!

I've heard the recorded live version. The audience goes crazy during "Third Stone..". He may have been doing some wild playing guitar behind his back thing or something. Wish there was a video to go with it.
It's absolutely refreshing and encouraging to realize that Stevie and Jimi transcend color barriers...it's just all about the musical soul. I love SRV's tributes to Hendrix, and I'm certain that if the situation was reversed, we'd be hearing Jimi's tributes to Stevie!
Little Wing is one of the most beautiful songs out there. SRV was truly remarkable. He breathed new life into a Hendrix classic. It's a shame that both Hendrix and Vaughan couldn't be around today.
Little Wing touches me to the heart. Its meloncholy tone expresses the yearning humans feel for the divine within that we know is there but so rarely experience.

close to 4million hits on youtube. he is the man. SRV
If you guys ever get the chance to watch this video, the second half of this song is literally stevie just beating up on his guitar getting all those crazy sounds. Its quite a show..
