Gimme Some Lovin'

Lyrics

Well, my temperature's rising and my feet hit the floor
Twenty people knocking 'cause they're wanting some more
Let me in, baby, I don't know what you've got
But you'd better take it easy, 'cause this place is hot

now this is the real stevie winwood. in the old days he was on the cutting edge of r&r. his band was called traffic. listen to the low spark of high healed boys and in the presence of the lord. he played all the instruments. he was 17 years old.

nobody nowadays knows the real Stevie (not steve) winwood. at 17 he was a major rocker. listen to some his older stuff and you'll get the idea. his band was traffic and one of his great songs was: the low spark of high healed boys. another was: in the presence of the lord. this is a different Stevie than the reconstructe d one of later years. check him out on YouTube. or don't if you don't care. just a thought.

Gimme Some Lovin' is a song written by Steve Winwood, Spencer Davis and Muff Winwood, although solely credited to Stevie Winwood on the UK single label, and originally performed by The Spencer Davis Group. The basic riff of the song was borrowed from the Homer Banks song (Ain't That) A Lot of Love, written by Banks and Willie Dean Deanie Parker.

I've always liked Winwood-this song and Arc of a
Diver could not be more different, which is cool. His voice always sounded natural, not polished, which I respect.

Love listening to Winwood, especially when I'm cruising. More please! ! One of the first vinyls I purchased.

Sorry Keith, it IS Winwood, at least on vocals and keyboard. And this is one of the hottest songs ever recorded. John, you got it right. Even most garage bands over the years sounded good doing this. JUST PLAY IT LOUDER!!!!
Report as inappropriate
This is not Steve. This is the Spencer Davis Group.
