American singer/songwriter/pianist Spencer Day's effortless blend of classic jazz, pop, soul, and folk has drawn comparisons to everyone from Harry Connick, Jr. to Jamie Cullum. Born in Utah and raised in Arizona by his mother, who was an accomplished music teacher and lyric soprano, Day spent his formative years soaking in the works of Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Joni Mitchell, and Paul Simon. Upon relocating to Los Angeles, Day released his debut album, Introducing Spencer Day, in 2004 on the High Fidelity label. The EP Movie of Your Life arrived in 2005, followed by Vagabond in 2009, the latter of which arrived on the Concord Jazz label. His next Concord date in 2013, The Mystery of You, found Day utilizing the same eclectic musical style but with a darker set of lyrics based on a failed romance. ~ James Christopher Monger & Al Campbell, Rovi
I'm a friend of Spencer's mother and am so proud to see the bio on here now which gives her some credit for his very musically rich upbringing. I love his voice, his style and his songwriting.
He is a great artist. Also listen to Melody Gardot.

Spencer Day grew up in Arizona. His mother grew up in an extremly musical family and passed along that heritage to her children. Spencer has been singing since childhood, such as in a child choir directed by his mother. Since there is no description of him, here is a small one. :)
Spencer released a free mp3 on his website last week!
It's called "A Better Way" and it's just in time for the election.
You can download it at www.spencerday.com
