The memory amazes me! Back in '89, my friends and I caught EFX at Eubie's at the Baltimore Fishmarket. Fell in love with them then not realizing how awesome and big they were...befor e "smooth jazz" was a genre.

Special EFX was, and IS still, a band featuring Chieli Minucci. Of course, his trusted side-kick, George Jinda died a few years ago. Chieli has played on the West Coast four times in the last three years, bringing with him his East Coast band twice, and twice featuring a West Coast contingent of talented musicians. Then, there is Chieli Minucci's collaboratio n with talented song-writer Lao Tizer. They have toured extensively together, along with violinist Karen Briggs. Let's welcome Chieli to

We saw Special EFX, Chieli Menucci and George Jinda at Rhythms on Playhouse Square in Cleveland OH several years ago. Small, close quarters, comfortable, and the best (live) music we have ever heard. It was in every way the best! Hard to believe they are not recognized here. Such a tragic loss to music to lose George Jinda.
