The Soggy Bottom Boys were played by George Clooney and company and they did a great job lip syncing the music Del McCoury is singing and Sam Bush plays mandolin, Jerry Douglas dobro, among others and the song is an old traditional. Didn't know Rod Stewart covered it,but I'm not surprised, many people have. Bob Dylan covered it on his first album too. If you like this version, you're going to like that high lonesome sound and New Grass Revival too...but that's another ball o wax.

great song but it comes up on EVERY SINGLE RADIO. I swear you could make techno-dub radio and it would pop up lol....
Report...
the song was first published in 1913, that Rod well over 100 years old. LOL
Report...
Song credits are wrong. Rod Stewart did not write this song. It's a traditional song. Although it's on Rod Stewart's first solo album.
