Just back from Iceland and visited their Alafoss studio!
Saw them yesterday in San Francisco. Amazingly touching performance.
Saw them in chicago on Tuesday. What an incredible, moving experience! By far the most visually stunning band I have ever seen live.
First heard them in the movie life aquatic. Just amazing.
Last night's Detroit show was so powerful!

@EricMM - yes and no. Partially. They mostly don't sing in any language, but one that the band made up specifically for their music awhile ago, interspersed with some Icelandic. Jonsi(lead singer) has some absolutely stellar solo work and side project work in which he does sing some in English, but normally even then it is juxtaposed with Icelandic. Check out: Jonsi, Jonsi & Alex, and Riceboy Sleeps if you (or anyone for that matter!) is interested in the above aforemention e d solo/side-pr o j e c t s !
Ethereal gloriousness . By far, amidst the vast multitude of shows and festivals I've experienced, Sigur Ros is ALWAYS the best. Has for awhile and will be for awhile longer, my all-time favorite band.

The music of Sigur Ros was played for a child I never had the chance to hold. It touches my soul and fills me with joy, peace sadness and wonder. I would love to see them in concert.

Tl;DR: Who the hell is Album Leaf?
Okay, B has a point. A damn fine point too. I'll admit I'm more of a Album Leaf fan, and finding out that Sigur Ros kinda started the Album Leaf and them not having a similar sound, I was pissed off. I've gotta say, B puts it well. They sound different. I've grown to love Sigur Ros, but I still have a soft spot for the Album Leaf. But let's get past that, and enjoy the music.
The Album Leaf is great, but I wouldn't say that it's better music than Sigur Ros. Just different... in a good way. That being said, I have been a Sigur Ros fan for much longer because they really are AWESOME!
@spamabsent I'm not trolling, my taste in music is debateable-- t r u e enough--but I was just stating that the solo work of Jimmy is better than Sigur Ros. I mean, Sigur Ros is good, but I think that some of their songs just don't stack up well against The Album Leaf's stuff. Just personal preference. I do really like Sigur Ros's overall atmosphere, but some elements of their soundscapes just don't hold my ear as well as stuff by The Album Leaf.
