It is taking longer than expected to fetch the next song to play.
The music should be playing soon.

I'm glad this album is here, but look forward to seeing many of these tracks properly mapped so that I can build proper stations with them. ::bittersweet::

The Seatbelts was one of the bands that expanded my tastes in music. Plus, the bassist(s) on their albums were phenomenal. Songs like Call Me Call Me and The Real Folk Blues have some killer bass tracks.
Yoko Kanno may be the big name in The Seatbelts, but most people tend to overlook the staggering talents of Tsuneo Imahori, their guitarist also a composer for Anime and Video games himself, fusing blues with drum n bass with samba with classical with dirty rock and roll riffs. He's worked with a wide variety of experimental artists like Yoshida Tatsuya. If Kanno ever needs a guitarist, Imahori is her first choice.
Yoko Kanno has composed for anime movies and television shows for years and in many very different musical genres. Not the least of which includes the masterful aural pleasure of The Seatbelts, of which she leads via her mad piano skills. The explosive big band thump and wail captures ears that may have forgotten the sound, and pulls enticingly hard at the ears that may have never heard the sound. Coboy Bebop is the s**t. Full stop.
I almost made Tank my song to play after our wedding 8 years ago. You know...where we walk back down and leave the alter. ^_^ Almost....but not many of our guests would have gotten it. It'd be totally acceptable today though. xD
get to know Seatbelts because of Kanno, because of Cowboy Bebop, only end up with love them more. they really got the essence of CB.

They've got such a range of different sounding songs! I have to admit that when I first heard them I wasn't all that wild about them but now their songs have definitely gotten inside my head!
6 Degrees of seperation from Yoko Kanno. Most of the artists I listen to, regardless of genre, seem to take me to either The Seatbelts or Yoko Kanno. The Pillows, Dir en grey, Georgia Anne Muldrow, OutKast.

Heck, the first song that I heard after the Seatbelts was John Coltrane. Not bad, but very different from Kanno's work.

Well, no. Kanno and the Seatbelts are *not* similar to Avishai Cohen.
Blam! Kanno has some serious trumpet goin on here on Clutch by the Seatbelts. I've never heard him, but i like it. I love good anime stories, I'll have to check Macross for some of his work.
The reason for the lack of info is most likely because this band is the "house band" for the anime Cowboy Bebop. If you have not experienced these songs in their "natural" environment you should.
I vehemently disagree. the "butthole surfers" is ten million times gayer. No contest.

Why the hell doesn't Pandora have anything about these guys? There are six albums worth of music here and no information? Not to mention they're just an amazing band. The Magic Band (Captain Beefheart's band, without Beefheart) has one album (mediocre) album and they get a long paragraph!
When I have some of 'The Seatbelts' tunes playing, and someone asks me which artist or band it is, and I tell them "...and they're Japanese", they usually say "No, I'm serious", and I have to keep telling them until they believe me, or I get out an album wrapper to show them, because so many people refuse to believe that the writing, playing, etc., really is done by Japanese artists. I only wish they'd stayed together and released more albums!
To Arvis. Yoko Kanno is a member of the band, although they were only together during the making of Cowboy Bebop. They came back together for the Cowboy Bebop video game. Yoko Kanno did put out just this year a 3 disk 48 songs almost "Best Of" of her work in anime including songs from Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the Shell, a Darker than Black song, etc.
