Seam

Seam began as a trio out of Chapel Hill, NC, with Sooyoung Park (guitars/vocals) and Lexi Mitchell (bass) of B**ch Magnet and Mac McCaughan (drums) of Superchunk. Their first album, Headsparks, released in 1992, was filled with the slow, affecting melodies and vocals that would become their trademark. After the release of that record, McCaughan left the group to pursue Superchunk full time, and the rest of Seam moved headquarters to Chicago. Bob Rising replaced McCaughan and Craig White joined on as an additional guitarist, turning Seam into a quartet. 1993's The Problem With Me featured this new lineup and slightly more upbeat sounds. Are You Driving Me Crazy, released in 1995, features an entirely new lineup except for Park -- the band currently consists of drummer Chris Manfrin, bassist William Shin, and guitarist Reg Shrader -- but continues in the line of moody and challenging Seam releases, making their musical quality a constant in an ever-changing band. The Pace Is Glacial followed in 1998. ~ Heather Phares, Rovi

Boring. One of the worst drummers I have heard too. Singer can't sing either.

I never get sick of Are You Driving Me Crazy? That album has been on steady rotation for me for about 15 years now.

was a big fan of b**** magnet and really loved seam -- very different bands but linked by sooyoung's brilliance.
Listened these guys a hellava lot back in the 90's. They were great live, too.

Reminds me a bit of a slightly more upbeat Codeine. Not bad.
the song I heard had a kinda slow-core feel to it... I just may look into these guys. I'm surprised I've missed them all these years.
I live in the Triangle. These are homeboys. Good ones too.
One of my favorite bands of all time! wonderful melodies! Genius!

Hey I'm being censored. Why is Pandora such a b**ch?
bromide01
Why are there two ** in place of the "it" in B**ch Magnet?
bromide01
Okaay. I meant B**ch Magnet. Not B**ch Magnet.
bromide01
Huh, B**ch Magnet was part of this band?
