A popular actress largely known for her mix of sexy and often critically acclaimed performances, Scarlett Johansson is also a vocalist. Born November 22, 1984, Johansson became interested in performing around age three and eventually studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute for Young People. After making her stage debut opposite Ethan Hawke in the off-Broadway production of Sophistry, Johansson went on to appear in such films as The Horse Whisperer (1998), Ghost World (2001), and Eight-Legged Freaks (2002). However, it was her starring roles in such films as Lost in Translation and The Girl in the Pearl Earring (both in 2003) that garnered her wide public recognition and critical buzz. Surprisingly, around 2005, after being considered for -- but ultimately not getting -- the lead role in an Andrew Lloyd Webber production of The Sound of Music, Johansson began evincing an interest in expanding her career into music. In 2006, Johansson appeared on the charity album Unexpected Dreams: Songs from the Stars singing the George Gershwin standard "Summertime." A year later, she performed live with the Jesus and Mary Chain during the band's reunion show at the Coachella Music Festival. Subsequently, Johansson began work on a studio album of her own with TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek producing. Released on Rhino in 2008, Johansson's debut album, Anywhere I Lay My Head, featured songs by Tom Waits as well as two cuts featuring David Bowie. ~ Matt Collar, Rovi
I dunno. I put Scarlett and Zooey at two opposite ends of the spectrum. I applaud Scarlett for both her acting and singing and wish Zooey would do neither.

OH MY FREAKING PIG SHE SINGS TOO‽‽‽‽ How did I never know this? The same thing happened with Zooey Deschanel... Love them as actresses, LOVE them as vocalists.
Her singing voice is so different fron what I expected and I am pleasantly surprised at it's velvet like depth...only way I can describe what I mean...
scarlett is so beautiful and i love this song....she's a fantasic actress and now she sings too! The truth is most of us would never be able to sing a song and have it be widely heard and liked by many! This song takes me to a fun place and its going into my electric mix
Oh gosh im so sad she performed with Jesus and Mary Chain, theyre awesome and shes awful

I'm not a hater, but it sounds like the music of a very talented performer who is trying to "be" too many things to too many people. Her voice is natural but is typically amateur. It doesn't sound confident and commanding. Very weak...as a comparision to other engenue lusty voices like Natalie Merchant, Mazzy Star, Jewel. It's like when a football player thinks they're so great an athlete they can suddenly switch to a different sport. Sorry. Doesn't happen at the highest level.
OH MAN..I missed it. I was afk when this came on haaaa...i had no idea she sang. Judging by the below comment........it just makes me wanna hear it more LOL
