This sound was one of the musical strains I heard on the radio while growing up in Sharon, PA, in the Fities. This entire area northwest of Pittsburgh extending across the state line into Ohio was very much a melting pot of people from southeastern Europe.

My father always sang this song, even once to my discomforted delight on a gondola in Venice. He was a working class boy in Depression Philadelphia who loved Carlo Buti. He never made it past middle school ( the war) but became a classical and pop music producer with no training past his great heart and ear. Thats Amore!
