Wisconsin native Sean Carey honed his considerable chops (he has a performance degree in classical percussion) as the drummer and pianist for Eau Claire-based indie pop sensations Bon Iver. Conceived and composed on the road, and executed during tour breaks, Carey’s first solo outing under the moniker S. Carey combined a traditional rock band setup with elements of chamber pop, fusion and jazz drumming. soothing, calming, experimental jazzy,his voice glides across your mind like a sweet smelling breeze. I bought CD because of 'in the dirt', but I like it all and would recommend.

Great original music which is this complex and unique is a rare thing these days. The live show is great. Clearly very acomplished musicians who are dedicated to making each performance the best possible experience for their audiences. The live shows have even more layers than the songs on the album. Keep rockin' guys and get back to IN sometime soon.
