mid-era Rush is actually my favorite period of theirs. I liked the mixing in of synths, not to the exclusion of guitars but complementary to them.

Actually, his Les Pauls do have a Floyd Rose wammy installed, but he was generally using PRS guitars on this album.

I consider this one of the worst songs RUSH does. That being said, it's still 10x better then anything being made today. IMO RUSH has the best drummer/bass guitar ever put on tape

Their best song in last 20 years? Don't think so. It's not even the best song on the album. And, no, it's not a Les Paul. Listen to the use of the wammy bar. He does not play a Les Paul that has a wammy; as most of them do not.
Wow, excellent song. I, like many, am skeptical of mid-era Rush due to the synths and, honestly, some weaker writing, but this one is masterful. These guys never cease to amaze me.

Guitar is perfect on this track. Perfect.

This is the best Rush song in the last 20 years. Transcends Rock and Pop. The blend of Alex's Les Paul(?) guitar and Geddy's synthesiser "bed" is incredible. Euphoric beauty. Ecstacy.
