I love this band I grew up to this music thanks to my dad and its great today, never gets old.
The Spirit Of Radio is one of those great examples of what progressive music can offer. It is so tight and soars without a wasted note. It is also a pure joy to see when done live and it nevers disapponts. Agree that it never grows old. Congrat on their R&R HOF nomination. Clearly long overdue. Peace.

I agree with ED. THey are systemically ignored along with the Moody Blues, Chicago, Kansas and many other progressive rock bands that got their start in the 70's. Rush rules!
Screw the Hall of Fame! One day they will step back and realize that RUSH had a HUGE impact. They will offer RUSH to join and RUSH will just flip them the bird and continue to rock until the end of days! RUSH rules!

I'd believe that, except for all the Punk bands that have been admitted. Bands that were definitely *not* mainstream at the time. No, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is nothing but Rolling Stone Magazine's approved listening list. Rush doesn't make it, and never will, because the hacks at RS have always despised progressive rock.
"Mainstream" is just a nice way of saying "sellout".

I will never visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame until Rush is inducted. Their lack of inclusion is criminal. This song embodies the vast potential of music to inspire, and to corrupt. One of the best of all time.

All I have to do is hear the first few notes of this song, and I'm blown away! This is one of the most phenominal songs from THE most phenominal rock bands EVER!!
Rush is one of the greatesr rock bands of all time. The fact that they are still together, putting out new albums, and taking their music on the road is incredible. I've seen them 6 times in concert and am looking forward to seeing them again. First time I saw them was in 1983 and the last time was in 2008. And they still jam. How many bands can you say that about?! And btw-The Spirit of Radio still blows away most of the music you hear today. I hope I get to see them live on their 50th annvsry

Its tracks like this that make you realize just how deep the "sounds of salesman" resonate in the contemporary music industry. There are so few groups that truly give me hope for the future of music, at least in the US. I'm glad Rush is still touring!

"Spirit of Radio" still gives me the chills 25 years after I first heard it ! It is Rush's first true-great song as it put them on the map! It represents Rush at it's best - they are one of the greatest bands in Rock History ! They never disapoint their fans and their performances are a truely unforgettabl e experience!
