You can hear how this album really influenced a lot of the more "jump around", hyper, NY-ish style: Onyx, Kris Kross, ABC, Naughty By Nature, etc etc, the whole early 90's commercial side of rap, kinda like late "Yo MTV Raps!" era....definitely loving to hear this later RUN DMC stuff.
This solidified that Run D.M.C were indeed the "Kings of Rap". And if you were lucky enough to see them in concert that year you witnessed what a live "hip hop" concert should be. They weren't the opening act but they ripped the stage and set the bar high for the newer acts that followed and in most cases couldn't deliver.
