This genre of singing illicited real praise. It was simple, true, and honorable toward God and the elders. It made you very conscious of God's continual grace toward us and it made you remember those who prayed us through our foolishness. Thankful.
There will never, in my opinion, another quartet that can match the vocal range of Mr. Blair and his Fantastic Violinairs. It takes immense practice and discipline to sing falsetto on each and every song! R.I.P. Robert Blair.
I LOVE THIS SONG, BECAUSE I SO HAVE MUCH TO PRAISE THE LORD FOR TODAY.HE WOKE ME UP THIS MORNING AND DEAR LORD I JUST THANKS YOU,BECAUSE I COULD BEEN GOING. I AM SO BLESS TO HAVE YOU IN MY LIFE. THANK YOU LORD. AMEN
Some of the "BEST" quartets I still enjoy listening to

Ilove JESUS,so when I'm being MINISTER to in MUSIC, in a SERMON, a TESTIMONY, or just when someone is blessing me only by saying have a BLESS DAY! So, to me all these songs have a meaning, somewhere in the course of any given day I'm lifted up by a song. So I love all of these song they take me way back. I'm "56 had and still got bad health. So I'll really happy to hear all of these.
I really love this song and have not heard tis song in a long time. Thank you for bringing this song back. We who still have a mother should remember this song and cherish our mother.
Nobody like Blair and what about Shock? There will never be another exactly like them. I've heard good immitation, but no duplication. But when we get to heaven--you talking about singing!
one of the best groups ever. i remember hearing them for the first time when i was nine years old. now i'm 51 years. the violinaires are super bad. i love the high range they got. they were here in memphis tn last year. lil blair and the violinaires. they sound just like the original violinairs

I remember as a child going on family trips listening to this great gospel music. As I grew up to become an adult, his music and love of Jesus has stuck with me.
Had the best prettest back ground voices in gospel.Back in the day it was them and mighty couds of joy that were one and two.Its bad that people have to leave.
james Addison i was blessed to proform on the same stage and program with him and his group RIP BROTHER BLAIR 11/18/09

The world lost a good person when the good Lord called him home to be with him. Rest In Peace and always know that we miss U!

Robert Blair was one of the best Gospel-entertainers the world has come to know. He knew how to engage an audience and NEVER let you forget He was singing for Jesus. I pray he got his 'crown.'
Now this is Gospel as I remember, as a kid! Wow! Long before Kirk and all of this contemporary stuff. . . It is good that groups like Lee Williams and Keith "Wonderboy" Johnson are keeping this style alive!
