Formerly known simply as Rhapsody, this acclaimed Italian heavy metal band active since the mid-'90s was forced to change its name to Rhapsody of Fire in 2005, due to copyright issues. Yet, with the arrival of their next album, 2006's Triumph or Agony, fans discovered that nothing else had changed about the elaborately conceived, progressive and baroque power metal, created by longtime members Fabio Lione (vocals), Luca Turilli and Dominique Leurquin (guitars), Alex Staropoli (keyboards), Patrice Guers (bass), and Alex Holzwarth (drums). ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, Rovi

You guys are AMAZING! The powerful vocals, epic choruses, vivid lyrical content, intricate yet beautifully orchestrated instrumentation.. it all evokes a sense of RAW EPICNESS! :) You transcend me to glorious lands.. it's as if you infuse me with images and emotions through your music! Definitely one of my favorite bands.
These guys are great I don't know how this band is a "nerd" band but ok i guess that makes me a total nerd but i wrote a story if anybody whats to read it on fanfiction.net it is going by the emerald sword I dont see how this band is a nerd one but i am a sporty kick a** nerd then
I never heard these guy's before 6/05/12, I went to see them in concert the other night, and yes there were many nerds at the concert. They even had a nerd mosh pitt, I have never seen one of those before. To my surprise I had a great time watching there antics. I do not consider myself a nerd, but I found I fit right in to the crowd. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a good time. I would go back and see them again, no doubt about it. Left me anxious for more! DE
Yeah what makes you think were like that? you can be a geek and still function in the real world. you have to... or else you die!!! there are 2 kinds of geeks, well more than that but to the point, there are those who you are right about and those who others dont see. like me for example, im a super nerd but i can still kick a**. i found kendo helps alot too. i got the idea from watching bleach which also has some awesome music. it hurts like hell if you forget your protective equipment but its
@PunkGuy ...I'm a well dressed girl, And I'm not fat. I'm curvy as hell and I love this band. Thank you for making such a lovely assumption about me and everyone else who enjoys this band. Perhaps you should resume being punk and celebrate with a bag of cheetos.
@ Punk Guy - For the record Punk Guy I work in the woods. My day job consists of hiking up and down cliffs ten hours a day, and that's excluding wild fire fighting. By the way that is a weird for a guy holding a gameboy in his profile picture.
@Punk Guy with the Stars in His Eyes - Wow.... way to classify an entire genre of metal listeners. I do like my cheetos, but being a VP of Operations for a very large and very successful financial orginaztion I really wouldn't classify myself as having broken dreams. Just gonna throw it out there. Long live the nerds (especially the 40+ ones such as myself who have stuck with it all of their lives). We pretty much get to run everyone else's lives. I'll say that i'm pretty satisfied with tha
Oh dear lord, Rhapsody of Fire...this is...I can feel the nerd so hard. These guys are the reason why I don't do anything all that nerdy, because I get lumped together with fans of these guys. And all of them are sacks of Cheetos and broken dreams. No offense dudes, but doing some exercise and getting some fresh air wouldn't kill you.
Hmm... Pandora seems to have picked up Dawn of Victory. They should get the other older albums as well, instead of only Tales from the Emerald Sword Saga.
I have nothing against the best of album, it just overlooks so many other Rhapsody songs that are good as well, such as Where Dragons Fly.
even though the vocals are a little cheesy sounding this is a testament to the fact that 80's style power metal is thriving in Europe while here in America all anyone cares about is $$$, so they all sound the same....f**king EMO BS!!!
Why Patrick Stewart when they've used Christopher Lee on 3 or 4 of their albums already? Saruman and Count Dooku 4TW!!! A nerds paradise! I love these guys.
When did expressing pride in Italy’s musical heritage become racist or even unreasonable? Especially considering Italians virtual invented modern musical theory. Pax et bonum

Wow, that's a lot of weed, caffeine and warcraft. Even after they let the disembodied god voice break it down for us mortals I still have no idea what this song was about.
Okay... everyone can insult the obviously true comment of Nerd Metal FTW!!!, but say nothing about the racist connotations behind another post? What is Pandora coming to?
