The influential Swedish hardcore band Refused was formed in 1991 by vocalist Dennis Lyxzén, guitarists Jon Brännström and Kristofer Steen, bassist Magnus Höggren, and drummer David Sandström. Debuting in 1993 with the EP This Is the New Deal, the group issued the full-length This Just Might Be...the Truth later that same year. The Everlasting EP followed in 1994, and in 1995 Refused returned with another EP, Refused Loves Randy. After 1996's Songs to Fan the Flames of Discontent, they issued the EP Rather Be Dead; in the wake of completing 1998's classic The Shape of Punk to Come, Refused disbanded, unable to reconcile their anarchist leanings with a career in music. ~ Jason Ankeny, Rovi

So ahead of their time. Not suckin' their D's or anything, but seriously. These guys and Faraquet were a total decade ahead of their genres. I love that they couldn't even stay together because they were so anarchy-oriented. That's a true power-to-the-people band haha
Lyxzén is a spectre trapped in a wormhole that has swallowed its own tail traversing 'midst only three dimensions as he slides (In no discernable order): Hell, the North Pole, and my AC outlets. Trapped in the wormhole, Mr. Lyxzén finds himself leaping from life to life, putting things right that once went wrong, and hoping each time that his next leap will be the leap home.
The last post must not be misconstrued as an attack on refused, but as a direct assault at all you an your holier than thou attitude homo fascist homos out there. at the very least think of it as the hives on crack
I have no clue why people made such a big deal out of this band. There's a MILLION jagged post-hardcore bands just like this. I could be listening to Fugazi now.
