The Redwalls

Deerfield, IL-based quartet the Redwalls formed in 2001; originally a British Invasion-inspired cover band dubbed the Pages, the group's members -- singer/guitarist Logan Baren, his bassist brother Justin, lead guitarist Andrew Langer, and drummer Jordan Kozer -- were still in high school when they played their first show at the local jazz club Pops for Champagne. The Pages soon began writing original material and earned a regular booking at the Evanston club Nevin's Live, with the venue's booking manager, Mitchell Marlow, eventually quitting his post to manage the band full-time. With the help of former Wilco drummer (and Marlow pal) Ken Coomer, the Pages' demo recording made its way to Capitol Records' A&R rep Julian Raymond, and while in the midst of working on their debut LP for the Chicago-based indie label Undertow, the band signed to Capitol in mid-2003, changing their name to the Redwalls at the label's request. (An earlier Capitol signing was also known as the Pages, but was far better known as Mr. Mister.) Undertow issued the Redwalls' debut, Universal Blues, in the fall of 2003 -- after completing sessions for the album, Kozer quit the group to attend college, with Ben Greeno signing on to play drums. Their first record for Capitol finally saw the light of day in June of 2005. Produced by Rob Schnapf (Elliott Smith, the Vines), De Nova adds horns and a bit of major-label magic to the Redwalls' sound but retains their live-wire energy and ends up being an enjoyable blast of classic rock worship. No surprise that similarly backward-looking Oasis invited the band to join their summer of 2005 U.K. tour. ~ Jason Ankeny, Rovi

This is one of my favorite songs of all time. So good man.
Nashville Skyline?
Brings a smile...Am I the only one who hears Dylan in his more melodic years?

brilliant
Still holds up well, love it.
I think they're on hiatus bc the two brothers stuck together as the redwalls and the other two split off and started another band with someone.
This guy made similar music, but the video is soo stupid, though! http://youtu . b e / 5 w t O q 0 8 W _ L w

Why are they on hiatus?
I liked them when I got a friend request from them on myspace-they rock! Beatle-esque and remind me of The Vines.
that voice...inca r n a t i o n of Paul. Totally.
haha aw man these guys sound like the beatles. I like it. they're good, and original enough

Wow.... essence of John, George, & Bowie w/out being copycats.... Excellent work, guys!!!
trexlersr
i heard the song 'summer romance' on the dr. dog radio one day and instantly knew i would like these guys... and i was right
only heard Summer Romance so far...and i like what i hear.
yeah it sounds similar to the Strokes, but to me, less annoying.

sweet song.
allegedlyaud r e y
i can see that.
To me the lead signer sounds identical to Dylan at times
Ah I love these guys, but I have to say to me they really sound nothing like The Strokes. Anyway if I'm missing the similarity's the thing would be a band can sound like another band and not be ripping them off, I'm sure everything has been done before musically...
Alexxb you are crazy. The Beatles are the best!!
I think they're okay.
But I wouldn't say the new Beatles,
Because I never liked the Beatles muchh.
Call me crazy.
I appreciate the redwalls' music becuase they bring back rock'n'roll roots while keeping their originality. And that's what this style of music is all about.
I AGREE,THEYRE AMAZINNNG!
You all don't know what good music is if you think The Redwalls is a bad band. They're one of the better bands in a music era that has gone commercializ e d !
They try too hard.
The new Beatles.
they sucked man, played at my school....wa n t e d to shoot myself
r u kidding? you need to listen to summer romance! their best song, out of all i've heard. now souljaboy... he's awful... ughhh...
