It is taking longer than expected to fetch the next song to play.
The music should be playing soon.

I was somewhst intrigued about his influence and relationship with MJQ and Milt Jackson, and totally ignorant of the fact that he and Ella Fitzgerald were so close !
Ray Brown was the epitomy of swinging bass.when I started studying upright bass, he was my main influence for the style, sound, and swing I wanted to have. Had the great honor of hearing, meeting, taking photos and getting his autograph on one his Triple Treat albums. Rest in peace Ray!
People keep asking Pandora to list the sidemen-- Why don't these people realize that all they need to do is open a new browser window, type in the name of the CD and they can find all the personnel? It's amazing to me: The Web puts the world at your fingertips, and people still want to be spoon-fed information!
Ray Brown selections and a smooth brandy - perfection!

Ray Brown is a bassist's bassst. Always swingin, and right on the chord change. No wonder amazing pianists like Oscar, Benny Green and Gene Hiarris loved playing with him!

Please list the sidemen. If it sounds great, I want to know who is playing
Ray Brown's rendition of Take the A Train has to be my favorite after the Duke's. So smooth, seamless, soulful, sensual, savvy, sassy sound. Wow! It touches me so deeply.

I was in the Navy in the late 40's and 50's and our ship at one time was in San Francisco. I stopped into a bar/lounge that had a cover of $8.00 The Oscar Peterson Trio was there with Ray on Bass, and at intermission, the next group that came on the revolving stage was the Nat King Cole Trio. $8.00 cover and I believe my beers were $2.50. What great and glorious memories.
I saw and met Ray Brown in the 50' when he appeared The Kurhaus in Scheveningen,Holland, when he was part of the Jazz at the Philharmonic with Ella Fitzgerald, Herb Ellis and other greats over a period of 3 years after the first time, unforgettable and greatness and talent personified, Rudie Vandermeyde

Q: What are the four most used words on a jazz radio station?
I met John Clayton at the Newport, Oregon Jazz Festival. John has Ray Brown's bass. John's style is a little different than Rays' but for all of us Ray Brown fans, please know that his bass is in very good hands.
Heard him in San Fransisco and have always loved his music.

In my humble opinion< Ray Brown is the Greatest Bass Player/Teacher that ever lived. I met Mr. Brown in 1998 in Seattle, WA. He was playing at DiMitiros jazz alley< and during a break, he was sitting at the bar having a soda water. We spoke at length about Bass Playing and was very inspiring to listen to. 10 yrs. earlier at the Port Townsend Jazz festival,he performed with his then trio with Gene Harris,on piano, and jeff Hamilton, on drums. that was a great experience that I will never forget
Ray Brown defined the acoustic bass as we have known it in modern times. The best musicians in the business were always attracted by him. A supreme master of the bass and a charming entertainer.
Would like to dedicate The Roy Brown Trio's cut,"I Thought About You",in memory of my mama Eunice Miller Wooden who went home to be with the LORD 29APR09...miss ya ma...MUCH LOVE n NEVER 4gotn...
