This song is almost literally my sister's story. She played softball when she was younger. She committed suicide and I had no clue why at the time. I wish I could've done something for her. She was two weeks away from turning 21. She died in early autumn.
Rascal flatts is above all other bands because of their amazing songs. No one else could pull off such a beautiful song about such a touchy subject like suicide. I'll be honest... Most rascal flatts songs make me cry uncontrollably. Such a great band!
I've always liked how these guys harmonize, I hope that doesn't make me a girly man, they have had a hand full of really good songs, some remind me of ABC's Nashville a little though. LOL

This song remainds me of Yaniz, my best friend 17 year old niece, she shot herself in the chest after the boyfriend broke up with her. She died on her mother's arm. I have never seen anything so sad.

Such a great song! It makes me cry every time I hear it. It reminds me of my own suicide attempt as a teenager. I'm glad I survived because I have much to be thankful for today. What still gets me is that my parents didn't (and still don't) get how the turmoil in their marriage and in our house pushed me to that point with the other things I was facing. Take note parents, if you can't get along with each other, either get help or get out before you do serious harm to your children.
Why? That can never be understood fully by the one's left behind. When a person gets to that point, they are indeed in the darkest hell on earth. I have both considered this terrible option and lost friends to suicide. Life can be very damn hard at times, but having left those self destructive thoughts nearly 20 years ago, I have seen many beautiful wonders. Thank you Lord!
Why is it we always "wish I could've done something more" after it's too late? Maybe it would have taken 5 minutes of your time to listen to someone who was hurting or needing someone to care. Praying for all.

It's even worse when you know exactly why someone does this. My sister did when she was 34 and I still wish I could have read between when I was speaking with her on the phone. I never dreamed she would do it. She left us without a note or letter or reason why. We all knew though. This is a great song guys. It makes me stop and think when I'm so sad, depressed, lonely or feeling worthless...Thank you. I love you guys. You make the bestest songs ever. Don't ever stop.
Beautiful song. I had a boyfriend commit suicide 20 years ago and to this day, I still never understood why. Life is so beautiful and it's such a waste to see it end. Kudos to Rascal Flatts for doing this song.

This song is a really good song. My brother committed suicide in April and we played this song at his funeral, because he didn't leave us anything as to why he did what he did.
