Radical Face

Jacksonville Beach, Florida-based Radical Face is primarily Ben Cooper, who is also one-half of similar quiet-is-the-new-loud duo Electric President. Both have inked deals with German label Morr Music. Highlighted with light orchestral flourishes and acoustic guitar, Radical Face's early recordings included an EP and an album titled The Junkyard Chandelier. In March 2007, Morr issued Ghost, a concept album about houses retaining memories. In 2011, The Family Tree Presents: The Roots began a series of albums based around a fictional family that spanned the 1800s to the present, a story that continued on the 2013 release The Family Tree: The Branches. A collection of unused songs from the Family Tree recordings called The B**tards appeared two years later, and in 2016 the epic concluded with The Family Tree: The Leaves. ~ Kenyon Hopkin

i like this welcome home track it has hints of lutheran hymns i remember in my k thru 8. i like that sound even contemplated bringing that pipe organ grand sound to life in other artforms. All this in my head of course. i have no formal training in these disciplines. just a good ear and memory bank and love for the music

Hey Ben, I was sitting, sweltering in a pool of sweat (90 deg 100% humidity here in Viginny) when your song, Ghost, came on. Broke into goosebumps. Your music should come along with a warning. Almost chilled to death. Your music is appreciated.

Actually, Pandora, a recent NPR interview with Ben Cooper revealed that the one fo the Family albums isn't about a fictitious family, but about Ben's family. He came out as a teen and was kicked out of his home by his family. He later found out his neice was being abused by his step father, and so he adopted his neice. His step father was found guilty of the sexual abuse allegations. Tragic story. Beautiful music. http://www.n p r . o r g / 2 0 1 6 / 0 4 / 0 4 / 4 7 2 5 4 1 6 2 0 / w h e n - t h e - p a g e - b e c o m e s - a - m i r r o r - r a d i c a l - f a c

Very nice song. This track reminds me of some of the songs from the "Good Will Hunting" soundtrack. It's music that doesn't need to pummel you over the head to get your attention.
