R.A. The Rugged Man

Mixing Twista's speed, De La Soul's D.A.I.S.Y. Age attitude, and the modern swagger of the Tech N9ne-driven underground, rapper R.A. the Rugged Man is a favorite guest star for the likes of Mobb Deep, Wu-Tang, and Notorious B.I.G., but his own discography is surprisingly slim. One reason could be that in the early '90s, the then-18- year-old Long Island rapper signed with Jive, but he parted ways with the label before his debut album was released. Signing with Priority in the mid-'90s and then having that contract absorbed by Capitol just delayed his come-up, so in 2004, he went the indie route and released Die, Rugged Man, Die on Nature Sounds. In 2009 the compilation Legendary Classics, Vol. 1 rounded up his collaborative releases with names like the Notorious B.I.G., Jedi Mind Tricks, and Sadat X all landing on the track list. Talib Kweli, Tech N9ne, Krizz Kaliko, and Masta Ace were some of the names that joined R.A. on his 2013 sophomore release Legends Never Die. ~ David Jeffries, Rovi

Still Get Through The Day.
Been listenin to RA since his song wit BIG. One a the best mcs no doubt n so underated for so long but he has always wanted it that way. Lyrics are always real n hit hard n he always puts on a slammin show no matter how big the crowd... I deejayed a show way back in the day that RA showed up at and had the pleasure of spinnin his beats for him it was one a my proudest moments as a dj but the best thing was was that there was no more then 30 heads there n he still showed n still put on a show lik
Tabitha- some of the illest MC's EVER come from LI NY- RAKIM, Chuck D, most of wutang, leaders of the new school (busta rhymes) ,EPMD, MF doom, Craig Mack, Keith Murray.
Learn the history of your cities music scene before jumpin up online and talkin out the side of yo neck. You should be ashamed of yo self .
He almost kept up but a sick opening s**t
Did I just read that someone said r.a. is top 5 mcs to ever live? Y'all fd up! Wow, maybe top 500 if lucky...
And I've been listening to RA for 15 years so I'm not new to his material...h e ' s a DECENT emcee...puts on a good live show. But I saw B.C.C., O.G.C. and they tore it DOWN! So did the Wu-Tang Clan. But if ur talking about strictly lyrics and flow, AZ, Ill Bill, Nas, Bloodshed, damn...even eminem is better! Just my opinion!
RA's verse on Uncommon Valor is ons of the greatest. But u can't base an emcees talent off of one verse. A lot of his stuff is less then mediocre. Ill Bill, AZ, Nas, Vinnie Paz ...all better lyricists then RA. RA is good but DEFINITELY NOT the greatest...a n d Im from Long Island but just because he's one of the few LI rappers to somewhat make it...im not gonna make him out to be better then he is
I almost beat him up 4 no reason on Long Island lol but he is ill matic
RA is a beast
Mean lyrics man
unbeatable live show last time he was in town

R.A. is one of the illest underrated m.c. ever!!!!

R.a. verse is a true story its about his dad.... much respect
sounds legendary, to me. :)!
RA is easily in the top 5 of best MCs to ever live
RA is hands down the best underground lyricist out there- dude a lyrical genius- tech and Vinnie are both ill MC's, but to say either is better then RA is blasphemy. Check out his verse on uncommon valor; many say that's the verse of the decade, mAybe of all time.
Damn I never heard of this guy until I was looking at Immortal techniques page and clicked on jedi mind tricks page and then saw him so I decided to check him out though I don't think he's as good as those other guys he's not that bad of a rapper
Best Rapper EVER. saw this dude and his Show was INCREDIBLE. in definition of a rap flow he hit me in the face when he said "Pie in the face" haha. I show lotta respect for the Legendary Crusty Rugged Man

RA reminds me of the time when everyone was yes yes y'all'n on records.. The golden age of rap. I feel sorry for you young uns who have no idea about how dope rap WAS. Before the talentless lil boozies and ASAP rockys got record deals.
There's only one rapper I could put above R.A. right now that is vinnie Paz
So glad my cousin showed me RA. The best ever. Mind blowing beats and lyrics!
