Germany's Project Pitchfork is an industrial band featuring vocalist Peter Spilles and keyboardist/programmer Dirk Scheuber; their sound often recalls a less aggressive, undistorted Front Line Assembly. They debuted in 1991 with Dhyani, which was followed a year later by Lam-'Bras and Entities; highlights of this period were later collected on the U.S. compilation Early Years '89-'93. 1994's Io eventually became the band's first American release. After a layoff, Project Pitchfork returned in 1998 with Alpha Omega. ~ Steve Huey, Rovi
Being a huge Fla fan I can hear a similarity but I don't think that description was really correct nor necessary. Plus it gave almost no info on the group.. good group though..
I agree with you ZZOC79®, I feel that some if not all the groups/artists loose some personal character when compared to other bands, some who I'm not sure even fit as 'similar'.
It's music like this that me wish I was back in time at the of 19 to 27 when I was in the Army. I love it, puts me in my world where know one can bother me.
Hugely important artist in electro-industrial genre. Depending on the era of material they could be categorized as more aggressive tek or a bit more EBM/Industrial flavour. Doesn't matter to me, they always seem to go to interesting places with their music. Great work PP!
I could not have agreed with you more! Where is the Alpha and Omega anyhow???????????? To me this was a fantastic album and I cant seem to get it on pandora.
says: edited on 03-22-2010 I'm saddened to see how minimal the biography and back catalog is for such an influential band. The biography incorrectly states that Pitchfork is less aggressive or less distorted than FLA. It's obvious the author has only heard the later material at the point when it became more popular i

It's obvious the author has only heard the later material at the point when it became more popular in NA. Early Pitchfork albums are definitely Aggrotek with tinges of Industrial (See Lam'bras or Dhyani). Hopefully Pandora can provide some more of the back catalog in the future (like Entities or Dhyani)
Hey can't believe it - but Project Pitchfork is set to play the Knitting Faktory in August (26th I believe) in L.A.!! Das Bunker set it up!! They're playing with Psyclon Nine and Gentlemen Junkie! It's going to be a f**king awesome show!! Shelby
