Pandora.com was a pretty important discovery in my life, I found it several years ago before it became well-known, played ads, before they started asking for money, before it turned into the commercial thing it is slowly becoming, even before you. I remember trying to talk to people about it or get people to check it out and most didn't seem to care or give a s**t. However, pandora seems to be doing just fine, I guess the word spread whether I spread it myself or not. Anyways, pandora become one of the greatest, most effective tools I've come across and been able to properly use when it comes to music discovery. I have discovered too much music using this website, more artists and songs then I even have time to look into. It came down to writing notes to try and remind myself, but notes soon turned into notebooks and then into a mess of random artists and songs just scribbled anywhere. It became overwhelming and even frustrating at times. If you try to look into every artist like I did, you can lose yourself, it's impossible... the trick to finding these amazing "unknowns"(if you wanna listen to s**t that's known, turn on your radio) that your just waiting to fall in love with is to start a station around a relatively unknown artist, perhaps a little thumbs up or down action and taaa daaa! A great station with music you like and mostly never heard of will just spit out song after song. As time goes on however you will learn some tricks and making a good station turns into more of an art, but all it requires is some listening, give it time, it needs to grow in a sense.
