I love a wide variety of music. I know simply *everyone* says that in their profiles, blogs and websites. But when I say variety, I mean more than Lady Gaga, AND Justin Beiber (wink). Some of my favorites include: Pink Martini, Iron & Wine, the Tigerlillies, Laurie Anderson, Jai Uttal, Belle & Sebastian, Tokyo Hotel, Rough Trade, Abba, Blue Öyster Cult, Queens of the Stoneage, Calexico, Liquid Mind, Joanie Mitchell, Ella Fitzgerald, Michael Bublé, Dashboard Confessional and Billie Holiday... Just for starters. So when I say "all over the map" I'm not just being cliche.
Living in Seattle provides for a diverse range of live music experiences as well. I've never felt like my options were limited by my location here; from classical to popular, from Broadway musicals to experimental performance art... It's all here to sample, learn from and be influenced by.
Pandora's ability to learn from my listening patterns has been nothing short of amazing for me. With just few tracks of "thumbs up/down" it begins offering me things I didn't know I liked, as well as finding old favorites I hadn't even been thinking about. All this provided in a simple, cross platform interface that can be part of my home entertainment center (on my TiVo DVR) or in my jacket pocket on my Blackberry. Pandora is everywhere for me, which is precisely what I want.
