I am part of a super secret kick ball society. We play kick ball all day and eat thin mints. In my spare time I like to ride my moped in circles until I vomit all over myself.
I grew up in the 80's but if any genere that really warped my precious virgin ears and soul was punk and ska. Growing up in So Cal the music scene was within my grasp at all times with gigs between Burbank, Hollyweird, LA, across to Riverside and San Bernadino down to San Diego and the Baja's.
My real first show was in Reseada and it was the Circle Jerks. Next it was Bad Religion, Dead Milkmen. I've seen the B52's, the Violent Femmes (whom I just saw in their 25th yr show) and Oingo Bingo. Ive seen the Toasters, Voo Doo Glow Skulls, Hep Cat and The Skatellites. When I got stationed in New England I saw other ska bands like Allistons, Drop Kick Murphy's & of course the might mighty bosstones. Moving to Florida I listened to Less Than Jake and the Strangeways.
But my indie/punk ways guided me to The Decemberists, Foo Fighters, The Strokes, Kings of Leon, Deadboy & the Elephantmen, Hi-Fi, Ok Go! however my evil little mind has ventured into blue grass and folk like The Mammals. With living in the south I've got to hear some lovely soulful steel gutair blues.
As far my ghetto side, I like to shake da rump - I grew up with NWA, Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg and the sorts. Even some dirty south, Flo-Rida Petey Pablo, etc.
So to sum it up, pretty much everything but country and speed metal that will get me twerked up.
