I have eccletic taste but it essentially boils down to top 40. If it was a hit, regardless of the genre, I probably know it or like it. I generally gravitate towards 70s and 80s but my taste is all over the map. I enjoy music ranging from easy listening, love songs, brit pop, R&B, pop, rap etc. Unfortunately 80s R&B seems to get excluded when you try to put together a true 80s collection. I also like some international music like Buena Vista Social Club, Gypsy Kings, and Bebil Gilberto. I really like music that is pleasing to the ear, soothing. I am not much into rock but of course if it was a hit I know it or like it. I love Coldplay - the sappy stuff. I listen to Portishead, Massive Attack, Beth Orton, NIN, Frou Frou, Tool, some Metallica, Pearl Jam, etc. I like what I call v-rock too, your basic chicky type of music: Sarah MacLachlan, Tori Amos, Fiona Apple, Jill Scott, Alicia Keys, etc. I love to dance to rap and R&B: Tupac, Snoop, Jay Z, Mos Def, Beyonce, etc.
