I was born and raised in NYC. I was just a kid in the 70s listening to Black Sabbath, Zeppelin, and Deep Purple to name a few and into the start of the Graffiti movement and watching a city in total decay and filth from my window. By the mid to late 70s music was changing NYC was getting out of the Disco era and I was listening to College Radio I explored all the stations and the format for each week. Bands such as The Damned, The Fall, Television to name a few were being played .I started getting into Punk Rock heavy . By the beginning of the 80's I entered my teen years and the Dead Kennedy's, Black Flag D.O.A to name a few were being talked about in H.S and going to CBGBs Sunday afternoon Punk shows .Mainstream radio still sucked , with the exception to 92.7 WLIR and college radio in NY / NJ playing and promoting New Wave , Punk and Metal bands back in the days and Hip Hop was being born .
