Primordial

Formed in 1987, Irish death/thrash metal outfit Primordial began primarily as a cover band, peppering their sets with the occasional original tune as their confidence grew. Singers came and went, and the band eventually settled into a groove in the early '90s, recording their first demo, Dark Romanticism, in 1993 for around 50 pounds. The EP sold over a thousand copies and the group found themselves heralded as frontrunners in the burgeoning second-wave black metal movement. Primordial signed with Cacophonous Records the following year, releasing Imrama in 1995. Journey's End arrived in 1998, followed by Burning Season in 2000, Spirit the Earth Aflame in 2001, Storm Before Calm in 2002, and the Metal Blade releases Gathering Wilderness in 2005 and To the Nameless Dead in 2007. The band relies on the talents of A.A. Nemtheanga, guitarists Ciáran MacUiliam and Michael O'Floinn, bassist Pól MacAmlaigh, and drummer Simon O'Laoghaire. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi

Los amo chicos. Son la o**ia!
Sloppy... Skip!
shut up dweeb
Maybe you douchebags like to listen to s**t about murder, But I like good music, this certainly does not fall into that category.
Oh sweet dear whatever, a new album! Excuse me whilst I endanger pedestrians and other motorists in my quest for this new album.
Solid
Love that atmospheric feel, mingled with folk and the driving metal chords. Lovely piece of work - no surprise that I got this on my Opeth/Novemb r e / A g a l l o c h radio ^-^
Thank goodness. I was hoping for the atmospheric sense, as you so succinctly put it, nathanjohns. Heh, heh, 'glass is half empty,' right on, OMW.

This is interesting. It's black metal more in the atmospheric sense rather than in the blastbeating , raw, screaming sense.
Cadaver, as much as I appreciate your comments and opinions . . . I'm bettin' you're a 'glass is half empty' kind of guy.

It's obvious from the last song I heard that they do have some bad ones, but they're still on my 'to buy' list.

This s**t sucks. Don't get me wrong, I love black metal...but it's an over-abundan c e of bands like these that f**king ruin the genre.

That's it...I'm gonna grab some leather spikestraps, some stage blood, think of a really brutal name (like Anal Blood Avenger), s**t out some tasteless riffs, and voala~~ another black metal band.
awesome band
Carpathian, good instrumental music. Great voice!
ultratekk
Great band
f u ck i ng g oo d s h it !
They were only death/thrash in the VERY beginning. They don't even talk about their black metal infl. or them being a black/folk metal band.

Oh, wait. Nvm, I'm an idiot. It DOES mention the black metal thing. But nothing about folk metal.
That's not true that no good metal bands tour the US Steve. Not true at all.
Dude... oh my god... Finally I have a reason that I can be proud of the fact that I'm a ginger.

Irish Metal ftw.
yeah, bad a**... but not as bad a** as AVENGER (CZH)
These guys are pretty f***ing awesome! I wish they toured in the states, but none of the good metal bands do.
Amazing! These guys are fantastic.
they started off as more of a black metal band and then their sound began to mature as they grew older and their world perspectives began to change. very powerful music, nemtheanga's lyrics strike very deep chords within the soul.
The more I listen to them the more I like them.I'll have to pick up some of their cds -Thanks for the discography knox
Death/Thrash ? ? ? More like black metal with folk/celtic inspiration. One of my favourite bands, here is a list of releases with their correct dates:

2007 - To The Nameless Dead
2005 - The Gathering Wilderness
2004 - Dark Romanticism (Best Of)
2002 - Storm Before Calm
2000 - Spirit the Earth Aflame
1999 - The Burning Season (EP)
1998 - A Journey's End
1995 - Imrama
The release dates of the albums under the pictures don't match the ones in the review.
I dig...NEED MORE !!! Play on!!!
