This is a nice underrated gem - in fact the whole "Divison Bell" album (except for the misleadingly named "High Hopes") is great. Love the 80s like sound to it - and weirdly enough, it kinda reminds me of the musical score to the first "Jak and Daxter" vid game.
Someone finally mentions Nick Mason - the most underrated member of Floyd. Gilmour once said that the key to the music is what is NOT played. Mason's drumming is calm, organized, restrained, totally Floyd
David Gilmore and Richard Wright were as much Pink Floyd as Mr Waters. Three of the greatest progressive rock artist that have ever walked this earth. Waters "Animals" changed my life at the time of it's release. Richard Wright's "Us & Them" off Darkside well...and Gilmore's guitar playing & leadership gave us direction... PS Don't forget Mason's drums.......
Too many Waters fans hate this album. Admittedly, there are a couple of clunkers on it, but most Floyd albums have a clunker or two. This song if fabulous, one of the standouts. If anything, THE DIVISION BELL gave rise to the best Floyd tour ever, the Pulse Tour. The only Floyd tour I ever saw... jaw-dropping. The videos are fantastic as well...
