Maybe I'm amazed at the way you love me all the time Maybe I'm afraid of the way I love you Maybe I'm amazed at the the way you pulled me out of time And hung me on a line

I agree w/ you Linda & David, in my opinion, this IS the ultimate McCartney love song to Linda. Man, she loved him, but as the song suggests (oh yes, how he loved her, too) HE NEEDED HER. And that's SO beautiful to me. Did you read the letter to her that he wrote when she was dying? 'Chokes me up just to think about it. Most of all, you can feel his guttural love for her. And if you were to just read the lyrics, it sounds as if he questioning the love & the need. But, when you listen to him sing

Maybe the ultimate McCartney love song?? So hard to choose. Isn't the percussion in this just fabulous? Punctuates his expression perfectly.
Yoko gets a lot of blame that she doesn't deserve. It was really the drifting apart of John and Paul that led to the breakup of the Beatles. After all of those years of close collaboration, they just tired of the process and each other! Their divergent musical tastes wasn't an issue in their early career when they were riding the high of fame and creativity. But that same divergence became more pronounced in the latter albums when they were recording in parallel but rarely collaborating.
@brewbrat2 Yoko was not solely responsible for the break-up of the Beatles. Their lack of touring, loss of their manager, legal issues, and differences in artistic vision are all to blame as much as Yoko. She may have been a part of it, but she did not "tear it up."
This album helped me keep myself and my sanity together at a very tough time in a torn up 15 year old's struggle from repression. Maybe I'm Amazed too.
You had to be there to dig this!!!! - I must admit it sounds like something that could have been on abbey road- and im not a macca fan - im more of a jaya raj harison fan - let it roll - here comes the sun.
Just to clarify, I m not sure what Google research you were doing but the OFFICIAL dissolution of The Beatles did not come until 1971. Between the years of 1968 and 1970 they recorded and release 4 studio albums as a band. While its true that the band probably BEGAN falling apart somewhere around 1967/68 (around the time their manager died) they did not break up until 1970 and then they made it legally official in 1971 in the courts.
My teen years too, back when it came out, I didn't have a girl friend but I dreamt her up because of this song. Life was something "I really don't understand". A treasure of dreams and teen angst.
This song is a great one, and it brings forth the true vocal talent of Sir Paul McCartney. I see him in a completely different light. Sir Paul McCartney was nothing shy a musical geneous like is other writing partner John Lennon. JT
This song makes me want to cry ... in a bad way. I'm not sure what people see in this stuff. It's painful and I wouldn't comment if it didn't show up, inexplicably, in my playlist.

Overplayed because it's a great song. When I hear this song, I think that McCartney never really left the Beatles. Maybe it's more correct to say that the Beatles left McCartney. Songs like this could have been easily released by the Beatles. Yes, many of Lennon's later non-Ono works could be described the same way.
