Patty Smyth

After leaving Scandal in 1984, vocalist Patty Smyth waited three years before launching her solo career with the Never Enough album. Although it sold respectably, it didn't have any major hit singles. Smyth returned to the top of the charts in 1992 with "Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough," a duet with Don Henley; the single hit number two and went gold. Its parent album, Patty Smyth, also went gold and featured two other minor hits, "No Mistakes" and "I Should Be Laughing." ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine

Smyth and McEnroe qualify for laziest couple ever who lived last 30 years on their 80s laurels. It beats working!

Sammy Hagar is the best era of van Halen Wolfgang sucks compared to Michael Anthony Hagar era is dominate for all time

She was also asked by Eddie Van Halen to replace David Lee Roth when he left the band. I love Sammy Hagar, but Van Halen and Smyth would have been magic.

Instantly recognizable voice, no matter what band she happens to be with, or on her own. A rock icon for women.

So jealous that John McInroe has had this tart for breakfast for 20 years. Life is just not fair at all. What a doll.

She's one of my favorite female singers from the 80's! Goodbye to You

I love the song THE WARRIOR

Never liked this chick back in the 80's. Nor did I like her style of bubble gum pop. She had an incredible voice but opted in her choice of music to perform was just immature and thoughtless crap. She maybe would still be here if she had directed her talent to a more appreciative audience of mature and good taste.

Patty is still one of my very favorite 80's artists. Long live the 80's. I can never get enough of "the Warrior"

I think I should have been born in the 80's cause I LOVE 80's music. Music these days just isn't like it used to be. :)

She always seems to hit home with how I'm feeling or still feeling. Like "Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough".
Report as inappropriate
That is a great picture of her, but I don't know anything about her. In fact, I had heard some of her songs before without even realizing who it was. I'm very bad about making connections between musicians and their work, and radio disc jockeys aren't very damn helpful any more, either.

What a fantastic picture of her on that album cover!!!
I didn't even recognize her.

Hey, off the subject somewhat, but...
who was it that had that song "I want to _____ Patty Smyth"??
It was really a croppy song but heck, what other songs have ever been so blunt and direct in their message?

Oh yeah, did she really have enough hits to fill an LP?
Report as inappropriate
Yeah, where's fan who can write a descent bio of Patty Smyth? I don't know anything about her.
Report as inappropriate
Yeah that just shows how under rated she was she doesnt even get a bio wow she is such a great singer she deserved so much more.
Report as inappropriate
Psht! Hey, where's her bio?? Come on.
Report as inappropriate
Very under rated. Great singing voice and good personality. Starting from the 80's with the pop music up to the current time. Good looking too. :)
