Neil Young is an old soul...
I was around 24 when I really started listening to Neil and digging through his catalog, it made me feel extremely curious and I felt it was some of the most relateable subject matter, not to mention he was a huge influence on Pearl Jam who happened to be one of my all time favorites.

Back in the day.......th e best music ever ! I use to go to everybodys concerts everyone was great I got to see Led Zepplen on Letterman a couple weeks ago ! It sure bring back memorys mmmmmm !!!!!!!!

Reminds me of my dearest grandpa. I was 24 years old when this song was sung by Neil Young. Grandpa, I was a lot like you were.....

It's about the ranch he bought when he was still young, and the old man caretaker who lived there
I always think this was about a father and son well learn something new but well still do .. :))

This is the first time I've heard this version of "Old Man," and I'm surprised by the resonance of Young's voice; it's a really beautiful rendition of a great song.
I love this version because you can hear the chording so clearly. It reaches to the very heart of me.

Neil Young still to this day has that gift to play from his heart just as if
he were still a young man. I think this song tells alot of his roots of singing good folk music. I watched the DVD he made from Nashville a couple years back and he told the story of how he made this song. Quite interesting .
Amazing… one of the 1st performances of the song before Neil took it into the studio to record it with the band. Friends/Prod u c e r s were trying to get him to release these Live-recordi n g s as an album INSTEAD of recording the album which became 'Harvest' that had some of these Massey Hall songs, done with of course a band backing him. Ah… so many beautiful way's to do a song :) !!!!
